Kingdom Video Kingdom Performs Virtually!

With bands up and down the country currently in lockdown due to coronavirus, many bands are releasing performances recorded 'virtually'.

With Kingdom Brass unable to compete at the recent Fife Brass Band Festival contest, the band decided to release one of the pieces due to be performed, the trombone solo 'Stardust', as a virtual recording.

Featuring the band's solo trombone player, Alex Philip, each member of the band recorded their music individually, and these were skillfully pieced together by one of the bands euphonium players, Colin McCabe.

Visit the band's youtube channel to hear the performance.

Winter Gardens Events Cancelled Due To Coronavirus

Kingdom Brass, and all other brass bands in the UK, are currently in lockdown due to coronavirus.

With bands unable to meet to rehearse, or perform, various events up and down the country are now being cancelled or postponed.

The first event Kingdom should have taken part in since being crowned Scottish Champions just a few weeks earlier, was the Fife Brass Band Festival contest (also known as 'the Carnegie Contest') in the Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline.

This weekend would have seen Kingdom travel to Blackpool, to perform at the Spring Festival contest. The contest organisers have announced the event is now cancelled for this year, with the event returning for 2021.

Perth Concert Hall Kingdom Brass Crowned Scottish Champions

Kingdom Brass were crowned Scottish 1st Section Champions at the weekend, following a stunning performance at the Scottish Championships in Perth Concert Hall.

Led by Musical Director Ian Porthouse, the band performed the set testpiece, Tom Davoren's "Legacy", off the number one draw, and led the field from start to finish.

Kingdom went into the event as favourites, and didn't disappoint, with the banding press predicting they were 'clear winners' before the final results.

The band will now represent Scotland at the National Finals, to be held in Cheltenham later in the year.
